Evaluation of indirect diagnostic tests and PBMC expression of innate immune genes in subclinical mastitis in dairy cows

چکیده

The aim of this study was to estimate the prevalence subclinical mastitis (SCM), its innate immunity and compare efficacy indirect diagnostic tests [California test (CMT), differential electrical conductivity (DEC), absolute EC, enzyme based color detection method (Tanucheck kit) brothymol blue strip (BTB) tests] milk somatic cell count (SCC) using 200×103 cells/ml as a cut off value in Deoni (N=27) HF crossbred (N=32) cows. Cumulative SCM 38% 63% cows, respectively on SCC basis (N=215). Breed, udder health status interaction had significant effect level. overall sensitivity specificity above were 38 99%; 52 72%; 69%; 76 31%, 1 100%, respectively. mRNA expression serum amyloid A (SAA), IL-1β TNF- α genes significantly up-regulated while, TNF-α gene down-regulated PBMC affected It is concluded that, DEC more suitable detect SAA strongly related

Comparison of Some Indirect Screening Tests for Detection of Subclinical Mastitis in Dairy Cows

A total of 335 quarter milk samples from crossbred dairy cows were subjected to California mastitis (CMT), sodium lauryl sulphate (SLST), and somatic cell count (SCC) tests. CMT positive milk samples were 227, while 108 samples were CMT negative. Milk samples positive by SLST and SCC were 261 and 180 respectively. The CMT positive samples were subjected to cultural isolation (gold standard test...

Comparison of cow-side diagnostic tests for subclinical mastitis of dairy cows in Musanze district, Rwanda.

Four subclinical mastitis diagnostic tests (the UdderCheck® test [a lactate dehydrogenasebased test], the California Mastitis Test [CMT], the Draminski® test [a conductivity-based test] and the PortaSCC® test [a portable somatic cell count-based test]) were compared in a study comprising crossbreed dairy cows (n = 30) during September and October 2015. Sensitivity and specificity of the CMT, Dr...

the effects of high non fibrous carbohydrates diet on milk production, inflammation and molecular mechanism of innate immunity in lactating dairy cows

Innate immunity and carbohydrate metabolism alterations precede occurrence of subclinical mastitis in transition dairy cows

BACKGROUND This study examined whether activation of innate immunity and alterations of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism precede development of subclinical mastitis (SCM). METHODS Blood samples were collected from the coccygeal vein from 100 Holstein dairy cows at -8, -4, disease diagnosis week, and +4 weeks postpartum. Six healthy cows (controls - CON) and six cows that showed clinical sign...

The prevalence of clinical and subclinical mastitis in dairy cows in the central region of Fars province, south of Iran

licensed dairy farms in the central region of Fars province were randomly selected in order to participate in aseasonal prevalence study. A cross-sectional study was designed to determine prevalence at cow and quarterlevel based on clinical signs for clinical mastitis and indirect tests for subclinical mastitis. 6180 quarters from1545 dairy cows were tested by clinical examination and Californi...
